Humber Polytechnic launches its Global Summer School 2026, an intensive three-week academic program in Toronto that combines excellent education with Canadian cultural experience. Unlike traditional language schools, this initiative takes place within one of Canada's leading public higher education institutions.

What makes Humber Global Summer School different

The program takes place at the Humber's Lakeshore campus, on the shores of Lake Ontario, providing a well-rounded university environment. Students from more than 40 countries connect in courses taught by college professors, with a methodology focused on practical learning and real application of concepts.

The structure includes nine academic course options, each worth three Humber credits (equivalent to six European ECTS credits). These credits can be validated by the participants' institutions of origin, adding concrete value to the curriculum.

Courses available in July 2026:

  • Becoming a Podcaster: An Introduction to Podcasting
  • English for Professional Communication
  • Human Rights, Diversity and Social Inclusion
  • Intercultural Communications
  • Optimizing High Performance Building Design
  • Social Entrepreneurship: People, Profit and the Planet
  • Social Media: Developing Your Digital Marketing Skills
  • Systems Thinking for Lasting Impact

There is also an optional one-week bootcamp on Creative Thinking, which can be combined with any academic course for an even more complete experience.

Experience beyond the classroom

Toronto offers a unique multicultural scene. The program includes excursions to Niagara Falls, Blue Jays games, boat parties, and various cultural activities. Participants stay in the student residence on the Lakeshore campus, with breakfast included and easy access to public transportation in the city.

O Public college program in Canada traditionally requires advanced English and a greater time commitment. The Global Summer School acts as an accessible gateway to discovering the Canadian education system in a compact format.

For families considering High School abroad, this program represents an opportunity to test the student's adaptation to the international academic environment before longer commitments.

Academic differentials of the program

Humber works with real projects during the courses. Students develop portfolios applicable to the global labor market, under the guidance of teachers who also work in their areas of expertise. This connection between theory and practice defines the Canadian polytechnic approach.

Each class is intentionally limited to ensure close interaction with instructors. The official certificate of completion issued by Humber appears as a differential in LinkedIn profiles and international selection processes.

Even in the program:

  • Free transfer from Toronto International Airport
  • Full accommodation in the student residence
  • Daily breakfast
  • All excursions and cultural activities
  • Health insurance during the program
  • Presto transport card with initial charge
  • Official Humber Polytechnic certificate
  • Complete academic material

Requirements and registration period

The program accepts students aged 18 and over with advanced intermediate English. Registrations for 2026 are now open, with academic classes taking place between July 10 and August 1. The optional Creative Thinking bootcamp takes place from July 3rd to 11th.

Young people between 13 and 18 who seek to explore specific careers may consider the vocational career programs, which offer a similar structure focusing on defined professional areas.

Toronto as an educational destination

Toronto concentrates some of Canada's leading higher education institutions. The city is home to three Humber campuses, each with a specific profile. The North Campus focuses on technology and business, the Lakeshore on arts and media, and the IGS on graduate programs.

Study in Canada involves understanding the public college system, which differs from traditional universities. Colleges prioritize practical training and direct connection with the market, preparing professionals for the real demands of the Canadian economy.

The Global Summer School allows you to experience this educational model without the strict requirements of regular programs. Participants experience Canadian university life, test their English proficiency in a real academic context, and build an international network in just three weeks.

Connections with other programs

For those considering expanding the Canadian experience, private college with co-op offers longer vocational programs that include paid internship. The summer school can serve as a first contact before making decisions about longer programs.

Students who excel during summer school earn references from Humber teachers, useful for future academic or professional applications in Canada.

Investment in global training

The program represents an efficient international education format. Three weeks of academic immersion in a Canadian university environment, with validated credits and official certification, create concrete differentials in the curriculum.

Toronto serves as a laboratory for intercultural skills. The city's diversity, combined with colleagues from more than 40 countries, develops core competencies for global careers. The program structures this experience within a serious academic context, different from purely touristic programs.
