The Race Engineering Summer program at the Dallara Academy offers a unique experience for young people who are passionate about engineering and motorsport, allowing them to spend two weeks in Italy building a Formula 1 car at scale, training on professional simulators and visiting Ferrari facilities.
What is the Race Engineering Summer program
The program takes place at the Dallara Academy in Parma, one of the most respected companies in the motoring world. During two intensive weeks, students from 15 to 18 years old immerse themselves in the world of automotive engineering.
The experience goes far beyond the classroom. The participants work with real concepts of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics and digital design. Each young person builds and tests their own Formula 1 model on a scale, applying theory in practice.
Complete academic structure
The program is divided into three main modules:
Engineering Foundations & Design: Theoretical foundations of automotive engineering, covering everything from basic physics to advanced design concepts.
Technical Skills & Simulation: Training in professional simulators and development of technical skills with CAD software.
Industry Experience & Inspiration: Exclusive visits to the Ferrari Museum and the Imola circuit, providing direct contact with the industry.
Unique practical opportunities
The Dallara Academy offers access to equipment that few Brazilian students have the opportunity to use. The laboratories have state-of-the-art racing simulators, industrial 3D printers, and professional automotive design software.
During 30 hours of practical classes, students work side by side with Dallara engineers. This direct mentoring allows you to learn techniques used in the development of cars that compete in Formula 1, IndyCar and other professional categories.
Exclusive visits included
Ferrari Maranello Museum: A journey through the history of the world's most iconic motorsport brand.
Imola circuit: Stage for historic Formula 1 races, where participants understand the practical application of the concepts learned.
These visits connect theory and reality, showing how automotive engineering impacts the most watched sport on the planet.
Benefits for professional development
The program offers much more than technical knowledge. Young people develop teamwork, complex problem solving, and critical thinking skills. These competencies are valued in any engineering career.
Similar to career programs for young people in medicine or right, this experience allows students to test their aptitude for the area before choosing a degree.
International networking
Participants from different countries create a global network of contacts. This connection could be valuable in the future, especially for those planning an international career in automotive engineering.
Language learning in practice
The program is taught entirely in English, providing natural immersion in the language. Living with young people of other nationalities accelerates the development of communication in English, especially in technical and professional contexts.
Accommodation and safe environment
Participants stay at Camplus IT, a modern university residence with single or shared rooms. The international and safe environment allows young people to fully focus on the learning experience.
24-hour supervision ensures peace of mind for parents, while students enjoy controlled independence. Common areas include a gym, study rooms, and living spaces.
Food and extra activities
Three daily meals are included, with menus that respect different dietary preferences. In addition to academic activities, the program offers moments of leisure and cultural exploration.
The evenings include social activities that promote integration between participants from different countries, creating lasting friendships.
Preparing for future careers
For young people interested in mechanical engineering or related areas, the program offers real insight into the profession. Experience can confirm the career choice or reveal new possibilities.
The Dallara Academy certificate of completion values any curriculum and can be a differential in selection processes for engineering universities.
Inspiration for the future
Many former participants pursue careers in the automotive, aerospace, or technology industries. The program plants seeds that can blossom into extraordinary professional opportunities.
Connection with other international programs
Just like the career programs for young people focused on female leadership, this experience in Italy represents an investment in the personal and professional development of the participants.
International experience prepares young people for future university exchange programs or work opportunities abroad.
